Precor Supports Local Community
WOODINVILLE, WA – Precor anticipates that its one-year-old, 225,000-square-foot production facility in Rock Creek Center, North Carolina, will soon employee 140 employees and that more than half of its suppliers will eventually be local.
The local community, facing recent decreases in manufacturing and continued high unemployment, is pleased to see the positive impact of the company on the area’s economy.
Precor received state and county economic grants of $436,000, and as part of the incentives process, the county conducted a formal study of likely economic impact using Implan, a common economic modeling system.
That model pegged the project’s total impact on the economy at between $94.9 million and $117.6 million. Between the factory, suppliers and other impacts, Precor will generate between 172 and 228 permanent jobs by 2012, the analysis said.
